Takeaways
The Other World is a trap that looks like a dream home, designed to play on Coraline's feeling of being ignored. The Other Mother uses delicious food and fun toys to win Coraline over. The price of staying is letting the Other Mother sew buttons on her eyes, which would take away her freedom. Once Coraline says no, the friendly act disappears, and the world turns into a nightmare. Coraline saves herself by outsmarting the Other Mother, proving that things that look too good to be true usually have a dark side.
