  • Director: Conrad Vernon, Greg Tiernan

Overview

Frank, a sausage, lives in a supermarket where food items believe that humans are gods who take them to a happy afterlife. When a returned honey mustard jar reveals the terrifying truth about food preparation, Frank decides to investigate. He travels across the aisles to find evidence of what happens beyond the supermarket doors. He discovers that humans chop, cook, and consume food items without mercy. Frank uses the supermarket's loudspeaker system to share this information with the other groceries, but they initially refuse to believe him. He coordinates a massive supermarket revolt, using bath salts to drug the humans and fight back.

Takeaways

The food items' belief in the 'Great Beyond' is a convenient myth that keeps them docile and easy to manage on the shelves. They don't realize they're actually lining up for their own slaughter. When Frank finds out the truth, his biggest challenge isn't just surviving; it's getting the others to wake up from their comfortable lie. The supermarket relies on their ignorance to keep things running smoothly. Once the grocery items finally accept the scary reality, they're able to unite and fight back together, proving that truth is the ultimate tool to break free from control.
