Overview
Jack Skellington is the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, a realm dedicated to scary holidays. Bored with the same routine, Jack wanders into the woods and discovers Christmas Town, a place filled with warmth and joy. He decides to take over Christmas, assigning his town's monsters to manufacture toys and prepare a sleigh pulled by skeletal reindeer. His efforts to deliver these scary toys to the human world result in military intervention and panic. Jack realizes his mistake, rescues Santa Claus from the villainous Oogie Boogie, and returns to his proper role in Halloween Town.
Takeaways
Halloween Town and Christmas Town are completely different worlds that don't mix well. Jack Skellington gets bored of the same old scary routine and tries to run Christmas, but his monsters only know how to make creepy, terrifying toys. When they deliver these spooky gifts to human children, it causes absolute panic and gets Jack shot down by the military. This failure shows that just because you are great at one thing, it doesn't mean you can easily take over someone else's job. When Jack goes back to doing what he does best, he realizes he is proud of his identity as the Pumpkin King after all.
