Overview

Wade Wilson falls into deep depression after his partner is killed, leading him to join the X-Men as a trainee. During a mission, he meets Russell, a young mutant who is being abused by the headmaster of his orphanage. Wade kills a staff member to protect Russell, landing both of them in a mutant prison. Cable, a cyborg soldier from the future, attacks the prison to eliminate Russell before the boy becomes a mass murderer. Wade escapes and forms a team called X-Force to protect Russell. He sacrifices himself to save the boy, convincing Russell to change his future path.

Takeaways

Cable tries to fix the future by changing the present, hoping to stop a kid before he grows up to be a killer.
