Overview
Tanjiro Kamado returns home to find his family slaughtered by a demon, with only his sister Nezuko surviving as a demon herself. Instead of attacking him, Nezuko defends Tanjiro, showing she still has human emotions. A demon slayer named Giyu tries to kill her but decides to send Tanjiro to a trainer named Urokodaki. Tanjiro undergoes years of grueling physical training to learn water breathing techniques. He passes the dangerous Final Selection exam by defeating a powerful hand demon. Tanjiro sets out on a journey with Nezuko, looking for a way to turn her back into a human.
