Overview

Arthur Curry, the half-human heir to the throne of Atlantis, avoids his underwater heritage to live on land. His half-brother, King Orm, tries to unite the underwater kingdoms to wage war against the surface world for polluting the oceans. Princess Mera tracks Arthur down to convince him to claim his rightful place as king and stop the war. Arthur travels across the globe to find the Lost Trident of Atlan, a powerful artifact that controls the seas. He defeats the creature guarding the trident, gains control of the ocean's forces, and defeats Orm to become the new king.

Takeaways

Orm uses the surface world's pollution and neglect of the oceans to rally the underwater kingdoms for war. Arthur is reluctant to get involved, but he represents both worlds as a half-human, half-Atlantean, making him the only one who can truly bring peace. By finding the legendary Trident of Atlan, Arthur proves himself to be the rightful king and gains the power to unite the kingdoms without endless political fighting. His victory shows that true leadership means protecting both land and sea, and finding ways for different cultures to coexist instead of destroying each other.
