The story follows their journey as Rapunzel discovers the truth about her past.

Takeaways

Mother Gothel keeps Rapunzel locked away in a tower just to hoard the magic hair that keeps her young. She controls Rapunzel by feeding her lies about the outside world to make sure she never wants to leave. Flynn's sudden arrival breaks that bubble, giving Rapunzel a chance to see what life is actually like beyond the tower. By traveling to the kingdom and interacting with real people, Rapunzel finally learns the truth about her past. When Flynn cuts her hair, he destroys the source of Gothel's power, showing that the only way to escape an abuser is to cut ties completely.
