Overview

Ella is given a obedience spell by a fairy, forcing her to obey every command she's given. She grows up keeping this a secret to prevent people from exploiting her. When her stepmother and stepsisters use the spell to make her life miserable, Ella sets out to find the fairy to remove the spell. She travels through a kingdom divided by the rule of the prince's uncle. She works with elves, giants, and Prince Char to stop the uncle's plot and free herself. She doesn't want to remain a slave to anyone's voice.

Takeaways

Ella's obedience spell is a dangerous curse that forces her to do whatever anyone tells her, making her incredibly vulnerable if the wrong person finds out. Her cruel stepsisters quickly exploit this to make her do their bidding and treat her like a servant. Meanwhile, the corrupt King Edgar keeps the kingdom divided, pitting humans, giants, and elves against each other to prevent them from uniting. Ella's quest is about reclaiming her own free will and breaking the curse. When she is ordered to kill Prince Char, her love for him helps her find the strength to resist the command, proving that we can break free from the expectations and rules that hold us back.
