Overview
Miles Morales gets bitten by a radioactive spider and witnesses the death of Spider-Man at the hands of Kingpin. Kingpin builds a particle collider to access parallel universes to bring back his deceased family, which threatens to destroy Brooklyn. The collider brings alternative versions of Spider-Man into Miles's dimension, including an older Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy. These heroes are suffering from cellular decay because they don't belong in this timeline. Miles must learn to control his new powers to help them return home. He destroys the collider, saves his city, and becomes the new Spider-Man.
Takeaways
Kingpin's collider is a dangerous machine that rips open the fabric of reality, dragging in heroes from other dimensions. These alternate Spider-heroes start glitching and getting sick because they aren't supposed to be in Miles's universe, putting a strict clock on their mission. Miles is just a kid who has to learn how to use his powers on the fly to survive. At first, the other heroes don't think he is ready, which makes working together pretty tough. But once Miles finds his confidence and masters his powers, he steps up to help them destroy the collider and save the city. It shows that you don't have to fit a certain mold to be a hero, you just have to take a leap of faith.
