Fantastic Mr. Fox

  • Director: Wes Anderson
  • Year: 2009

Overview

Mr. Fox is a wild animal who promises his wife he will stop stealing chickens to protect his family. He takes a job as a newspaper columnist and moves into a tree near three wealthy, mean farmers: Boggis, Bunce, and Bean. The urge to hunt is too strong, and Mr. Fox starts raiding the farms, prompting the farmers to dig up his home. The animals are forced underground and must work together to outsmart the farmers and secure a new food source.

Takeaways

The whole clash is a battle between the greedy farmers and the animals just trying to survive by following their wild nature. The farmers bring in heavy excavators to tear down the animals' home, showing how ruthless and destructive people can be when their profits are threatened. Mr. Fox's stealing makes the farmers escalate the fight, locking the animals underground to starve them out. But the animals adjust by digging their own tunnels to raid the grocery store right under the farmers' noses. It shows that when you work together and use your wits, you can outsmart bullies who have all the big weapons.
