Mary finds a rare flower in the woods that temporarily grants her magical powers and activates a broomstick. The broom carries her to Endor College, a school for witches run by Madam Mumblechook. The headmistress mistakes Mary for a prodigy because of the flower’s intense energy. Mary discovers that the school is a front for dangerous transformation experiments on animals and children. When the headmistress realizes Mary's magic comes from the flower, she kidnaps Mary's friend Peter to force a trade. Mary must use her remaining magical resources to rescue Peter, stop the experiments, and return home to her normal life.

Takeaways

Endor College is a school that uses magic to perform dangerous experiments. The headmistress is obsessed with raw power, even if it hurts the animals and children she experiments on. The rare flower gives Mary a temporary boost of magic, letting her fly to the school. The school's failed experiments show what happens when people mess with power they can't control. Mary stops the headmistress by cutting off the magic supply, proving that greed and exploitation eventually lead to disaster.
