Overview
Larry Daley is a struggling father who takes a job as a night watchman at the Museum of Natural History. On his first night, he discovers that an ancient Egyptian tablet brings all the exhibits to life. Chaos breaks out as historical figures and animals run wild. Larry has to learn to manage the exhibits and keep them inside the building before sunrise. He also has to stop the old night guards who want to steal the tablet for its power.
Takeaways
At first, the museum is pure chaos with different historical figures and animals constantly fighting and wrecking the place. Larry realizes he can't control them by force, so he takes the time to understand their individual personalities and helps them work out their differences. The magical Egyptian tablet is the only thing keeping them alive, so when the old guards try to steal it, the exhibits must team up with Larry to save their own lives. Larry shows that being a good leader isn't about throwing your weight around, but about listening and getting everyone to work together.
